Daskala is comprised of a group of technology and business strategy professionals with significant experience developing scalable web applications. Leveraging backgrounds in software engineering, mathematics, and business strategy, the team builds web applications that are truly innovative. The Daskala team utilizes a collaborative, highly iterative development process to meet customer demands and solve real world problems.
Scott Beauchamp, Chief Executive Officer
Scott Beauchamp brings over 12 years of strategy planning, technology development, and entrepreneurial experience to his role as CEO of Daskala. Previously, Scott served as head of Product Management for dMarc Broadcasting until the company was acquired by Google, Inc. Scott continued as a Business Product Manager for Google's core Audio Ads product until leaving to co-found Daskala in late 2006.
Prior to dMarc, Scott served as Vice President of Strategic Planning and Corporate Development for the broadband software company, Winfire Inc. He also worked as a strategy consultant for Mercer Management Consulting in their Boston and Hong Kong offices where he served Fortune 500 clients in telecommunications, financial services, and technology.
Scott earned a B.S. in Communication Studies with a concentration in Economics from Northwestern University, studied at ICU in Japan, and is a member of the National Eagle Scout Association.
Gus Koumarelas, Chief Technology Officer
Gus Koumarelas co-founded Daskala in 2006 with 10 years of professional software development experience. His career timeline includes engagements as a senior software engineer, project manager, technical lead, database architect, and technology consultant. He has worked in the advertising, financial services, defense, and healthcare sectors on assignments for major companies such as Google and Washington Mutual.
Gus possesses broad software development experience in the areas of relational databases, enterprise systems, scripting languages, and user interface design. He has built a wide variety of custom web applications, including consumer-facing websites, product search engines, and management reporting solutions. With extensive knowledge of full lifecycle software development, from building rapid prototypes to designing robust, high-scalable systems, he has devised innovative solutions to meet complex business objectives.
Gus earned a B.A. in Computer Science from Northwestern University.
Justin Lapierre, Senior Software Architect
Justin Lapierre is a seasoned manager and developer with over ten years of experience in educational technology and publishing. Most recently Justin served as the lead software architect for the Houghton Mifflin College Division where he was responsible for creating a series of highly successful technical platforms that enabled the delivery of hundreds of digital learning products each year. Previously, Justin worked as a multimedia researcher at the Center for Educational Computing Initiatives at MIT where he focused his research on applying technology towards improving education and learning.
Justin combines a strong engineering and software architecture background with deep education technology domain expertise. He has built effective development teams from the ground up and has a proven track record for delivering scalable advanced learning technologies.
Justin earned his B.S. in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT.
